A: Actually Coastal Professional Barbeque Grills are both. You have the convenience of LP Gas but you also have the option to use a Charcoal Tray. Once started the Coastal Professional Barbeque Grill will achieve 425 Degrees in 4 to 41/2 minutes so you have a gas grill for convenience and when time allows you can use charcoal to grill your favorites. We also can set up all of our barbeque grills to be used with Natural Gas.  We also build 100 % all Charcoal Grills as well.  Take a look our Gallery page.

Q: Is the Coastal Professional Barbeque Grill designed on the indirect heat principle?

A: Yes, the Coastal Professional Barbeque Grill is an indirect heat grill. On the inside of the grill there is a 1/8" thick steel baffle. This design serves three purposes: 1) A very consistent overall grill temperature so you do not have to worry about crossover grilling because the entire grill surface is very consistent. 2) You will have limited flare-ups because of the deflector shield. 3) A convective grill that cooks from the top as well as the bottom.

Q: What gauge steel is used for the Coastal Professional Barbeque Grill?

A: 14 Gauge on the Body and 16 Gauge on Lid. The materials used are heavier than most of the other barbeque grill manufacturers. The Coastal Professional Barbeque Grill is all handmade using all barstock steel tubing for the frame; no angle iron is used on any part of the grill. All welded barstock construction gives the barbeque grill impeccable strength and will last for many years.

Q: How do grease and drippings drain from the Coastal Professional Barbeque Grill?

A: On the bottom of the body of the grill, where the steel is creased, there is a slight pitch from left to right and the grease and drippings constantly drain as they fall off of the top deflector shield and drain into a spout on the bottom right-hand side of the grill where there is a hook for a grease pail. There is no waiting for an accumulation of grease for it to drain.

Q: Is the Coastal Professional Barbeque Grill easy to clean?

A: Absolutely, to clean the grill it is just a matter of removing both deflector shields inside the grill and you have plenty of room to work with. Just a matter of taking a paint scraper and working grease and drippings to one side and taking a regular spray hose and forcing it out the two air intakes on the left side of the grill. There are no messy lava rock or ceramics to deal with. The stainless steel grill surface can be cleaned simply by heating the grill to 400 degrees and taking a stiff wire brush to clean it. The Coastal Professional Barbeque Grill is very easy to clean!

Q: It looks like the Coastal Professional Barbeque Grill has louvers over the air intakes on the lower right and left side of the body of the grill. What purpose do the louvers serve?

A: The louvers are there to keep any direct air such as stiff wind or breezes from hitting the burner directly and extinguishing it. The louvers force the grill to pull air up as it burns but doesn't allow direct air to blow burner out. They also keep rainwater from entering the body of the barbeque grill.

A: Most barbeque grills today are mass produced. Coastal Professional Barbeque Grills are all handmade and 100% welded construction. Coastal Professional Barbeque Grills are built heavier than most of the grills being built in the United States today. We build one grill in four different sizes; 20" X 24" - 2' X 3' - 2' X 4' - 3' X 4 1/2' Pull-Behind Pig Cooker.
